About this book

At Bright River station, a shy farmer named Matthew Cuthbert arrives to collect an orphan boy who will help work the land at Green Gables. What waits for him instead is a talkative, red-haired girl. He hasn't the heart to send her back, so he brings her home and leaves it to his stern sister Marilla to sort out. And the whole quiet farm tilts on its axis.
