About this book
A fawn is born in a hidden forest glade, wobbling on unsteady legs while his mother washes him with her tongue and quiets his trembling. In that closeness she gives him his name: Bambi. The forest around them is all hazel and fern, golden light through maple and beech, birdsong everywhere. And there, small and new, he begins to ask his questions: about who owns the trails, about kinship, about the meadow his mother calls beautiful and dangerous both.

Nació en lo más profundo de la maleza, en medio del bosque.
He was born deep in the thicket, in the middle of the forest.
Ocurrió en un lugar pequeño y escondido entre los árboles.
It happened in a small, hidden place among the trees.
Este lugar parecía abierto, pero estaba cerrado por todos lados.
This place looked open, but it was closed in on every side.
Allí había muy poco espacio.
There was very little space there.
Era justo lo bastante grande para él y su madre.
It was just big enough for him and his mother.
Se quedó de pie allí.
He stood there.
Sus piernas delgadas temblaban, y no podía quedarse quieto.
His thin legs shook, and he could not stand still.
