About this book
A fawn is born in a hidden forest glade, wobbling on unsteady legs while his mother washes him with her tongue and quiets his trembling. In that closeness she gives him his name: Bambi. The forest around them is all hazel and fern, golden light through maple and beech, birdsong everywhere. And there, small and new, he begins to ask his questions: about who owns the trails, about kinship, about the meadow his mother calls beautiful and dangerous both.

Han föddes djupt inne i snåret, mitt i skogen.
He was born deep in the thicket, in the middle of the forest.
Det hände på en liten, gömd plats bland träden.
It happened in a small, hidden place among the trees.
Platsen såg öppen ut, men den var stängd på alla sidor.
This place looked open, but it was closed in on every side.
Det fanns väldigt lite plats där.
There was very little space there.
Den var precis stor nog för honom och hans mamma.
It was just big enough for him and his mother.
Han stod där.
He stood there.
Hans tunna ben skakade, och han kunde inte stå still.
His thin legs shook, and he could not stand still.
