About this book
On a snowy afternoon, a girl named Alice sits by the fire with her kittens and wonders aloud about the room she can see in the mirror over the mantel. Then the glass softens to a bright silvery mist, and she climbs through into it. On the other side the fire is real, the clock wears a grinning face, and the chessmen walk about on their own errands. This is Lewis Carroll's looking-glass world, where a whole country is laid out in squares like a great chessboard, and a girl who begins as a pawn sets out to become a queen.

Én ting var sikkert.
One thing was certain.
Den hvide killing havde intet med det at gøre.
The white kitten had nothing to do with it.
Det var helt og holdent den sorte killings skyld.
It was all the black kitten’s fault.
Den gamle kat havde vasket den hvide killings ansigt i de sidste femten minutter.
The old cat was washing the white kitten’s face for the last fifteen minutes.
Den var meget tålmodig.
It was very patient.
Så den voldte ingen problemer.
So it did not cause any trouble.
Sådan vaskede Dinah sine killingers ansigter.
This is how Dinah washed her kittens' faces.
