About this book
On a snowy afternoon, a girl named Alice sits by the fire with her kittens and wonders aloud about the room she can see in the mirror over the mantel. Then the glass softens to a bright silvery mist, and she climbs through into it. On the other side the fire is real, the clock wears a grinning face, and the chessmen walk about on their own errands. This is Lewis Carroll's looking-glass world, where a whole country is laid out in squares like a great chessboard, and a girl who begins as a pawn sets out to become a queen.

Jedno je bilo sigurno.
One thing was certain.
Beli mačić nije imao nikakve veze s tim.
The white kitten had nothing to do with it.
Za sve je bio kriv crni mačić.
It was all the black kitten’s fault.
Stara mačka je prala belom mačiću lice već petnaest minuta.
The old cat was washing the white kitten’s face for the last fifteen minutes.
Bila je veoma strpljiva.
It was very patient.
Zato nije pravio nikakve probleme.
So it did not cause any trouble.
Ovako je Dina prala lice svojim mačićima.
This is how Dinah washed her kittens' faces.
