About this book
On a snowy afternoon, a girl named Alice sits by the fire with her kittens and wonders aloud about the room she can see in the mirror over the mantel. Then the glass softens to a bright silvery mist, and she climbs through into it. On the other side the fire is real, the clock wears a grinning face, and the chessmen walk about on their own errands. This is Lewis Carroll's looking-glass world, where a whole country is laid out in squares like a great chessboard, and a girl who begins as a pawn sets out to become a queen.

Un lucru era sigur.
One thing was certain.
Pisoiul alb nu avea nicio vină.
The white kitten had nothing to do with it.
Totul era vina pisoiului negru.
It was all the black kitten’s fault.
Pisica cea bătrână spăla fața pisoiului alb de un sfert de oră.
The old cat was washing the white kitten’s face for the last fifteen minutes.
Pisoiul era foarte răbdător.
It was very patient.
Așa că nu a făcut nicio șotie.
So it did not cause any trouble.
Așa își spăla Dinah pisoii pe față.
This is how Dinah washed her kittens' faces.
