About this book
On a snowy afternoon, a girl named Alice sits by the fire with her kittens and wonders aloud about the room she can see in the mirror over the mantel. Then the glass softens to a bright silvery mist, and she climbs through into it. On the other side the fire is real, the clock wears a grinning face, and the chessmen walk about on their own errands. This is Lewis Carroll's looking-glass world, where a whole country is laid out in squares like a great chessboard, and a girl who begins as a pawn sets out to become a queen.

En sak var säker.
One thing was certain.
Den vita kattungen hade inget med saken att göra.
The white kitten had nothing to do with it.
Det var helt den svarta kattungens fel.
It was all the black kitten’s fault.
Den gamla katten hade tvättat den vita kattungens ansikte i femton minuter.
The old cat was washing the white kitten’s face for the last fifteen minutes.
Den var mycket tålmodig.
It was very patient.
Så den orsakade inga problem.
So it did not cause any trouble.
Så här tvättade Dinah sina kattungars ansikten.
This is how Dinah washed her kittens' faces.
