About this book
On a snowy afternoon, a girl named Alice sits by the fire with her kittens and wonders aloud about the room she can see in the mirror over the mantel. Then the glass softens to a bright silvery mist, and she climbs through into it. On the other side the fire is real, the clock wears a grinning face, and the chessmen walk about on their own errands. This is Lewis Carroll's looking-glass world, where a whole country is laid out in squares like a great chessboard, and a girl who begins as a pawn sets out to become a queen.

Una cosa era certa.
One thing was certain.
Il gattino bianco non c’entrava niente.
The white kitten had nothing to do with it.
Era tutta colpa del gattino nero.
It was all the black kitten’s fault.
La vecchia gatta lavava il muso del gattino bianco da un quarto d’ora.
The old cat was washing the white kitten’s face for the last fifteen minutes.
Il gattino era molto paziente.
It was very patient.
Così non aveva dato nessun problema.
So it did not cause any trouble.
Così Dinah lavava la faccia ai suoi gattini.
This is how Dinah washed her kittens' faces.
