About this book
It begins on the night of a birth. David Copperfield comes into the world at Blunderstone as a fatherless child, and his formidable great-aunt Miss Betsey Trotwood arrives certain she is about to become godmother to a girl. Learning otherwise, she strikes the doctor with her bonnet and marches out into the night. From that opening, it unfolds as a life told in the first person, looked back on with a grown man's tenderness for the boy he was.

Ova priča će pokazati da li sam ja heroj svog života.
This story will show if I am the hero of my own life.
Ili možda će neko drugi biti heroj.
Or maybe someone else will be the hero.
Videćemo.
We will see.
Želim da počnem priču svog života od samog početka.
I want to start my life story from the very beginning.
Rodio sam se u petak, u dvanaest sati uveče.
I was born on a Friday, at twelve o’clock at night.
To su mi ljudi rekli, i verujem im.
This is what people told me, and I believe them.
Ljudi su primetili nešto čudno.
People noticed something strange.
